Community Lotto
There was no winner of last week’s jackpot of €4200. The winning numbers were 6,12,25, and 27. Congratulations to the four  match 3 winners who each received €75. The match three winners were Angela Walsh , Liz Rooney , Declan Colfer and J and F Mullins. The next lotto draw will be held on Tuesday 23rd August 2016 and the Jackpot now stands at €4,500.

Sunny South East Strollers / Striders
Philomena, Jacintha and Martin (Irish Heart Foundation Trained Community Walking Leaders) would like to invite you to come along to our new 4 week Strolling programme. Participating in a regular walking programme can boost energy levels, helps relieve stress, reduce the risks of high blood pressure, heart disease and stroke. So let’s get fit and active together .We can stroll for 15 to 25 minutes taking short rest periods where needed. Our new 4 week programme starts on Monday 05th September 2016 at 7pm in Rathangan Hall, meeting also on Mon 12th, 19th and 26th. Striders will also meet at the same time; we will all do warm up exercises together and walk out together. (The Community Walkway in Rathangan offers a very safe/steady place to walk.) The Striders will walk for approx 35-45 mins. Keep Fit - TRX Classes & Pilates Classes

Danescastle Music Group will host Seisiún, an evening of traditional music, song and dance every Tuesday night in Loftus Hall commencing at 8.30 pm. Located on the pier of the Church in Rathangan, the 24 hour number to contact our Parish AED team is 086 401 1688.  Call 999 / 112 first if you suspect a cardiac arrest and then call us.  We will have exciting news over the coming weeks about additional AED's for the parish, and we look forward to sharing it with you...

Annual gardening show

An invitation is extended to keen gardeners from all over Wexford to compete in this year's Gardening Show. The Show will be held in the Irish Agricultural Museum (Johnstown Castle) on the 10th & 11th September. Any flowers, fruit and vegetables can be entered as well as homemade  preserves, pot plants and floral arranging. Cleariestown playschool will reopen on Wednesday the 31st August. Places are still available for the ECCE scheme which is now offering two free years for children aged 3 years upwards. Celebration,
The St. Annes junior football champions of 1966 are celebrating the 50th anniversary of their historic victory that year. This was the first ever adult county victory for the club. The venue for the celebration will be Baldwinstown Hall. This is the place which they used for togging out and planning, before going up to Rowe's field to train in the winter for the semi final and final and where all meetings of  the club took place at that time.  It is hoped to have all 24 members of that team or their relatives at the function. Noel Rochford from Kilmannon is hoping to be home for it from Australia and all are looking forward to a great night on Sunday 18th September.

Fastnet Rovers Player Registrations:

Scouts
38 members of Kilmore scouts have returned from the best camping experience of their lives. The International Jamboree in Birmingham was attended by 2000 participants from all over the world, was action packed from the start, with new friendships made, challenges experienced and memories made for a lifetime.  The leaders are so proud of our youth members who were firm favourites on Asia Sub-camp with their total commitment to all the activities,  creating plenty of atmosphere with their singing and engagement with the other groups on site. Thank you to everyone who supported our fundraising to make it all possible.  Congratulations to Rachel Brady who was selected as part of the Youth Staff for All Ireland Phoenix Challenge which takes place 17-20 Aug

Cleariestown Sewing and Knitting Club
Cleariestown Sewing and Knitting Club would like to think everyone who bought tickets for the Patchwork Quilt at the Cleariestown Pattern and Field Day. Winner of the Quilt was Ryan Scallon and the other prizes on the day were: Maggie Whitty , Anne Sinnott , Billy Jordan and Richard Rochford .

Cleariestown Tractor Run
Please note that the date of the tractor run has changed to Sunday 31st July. The run will consist of tractors, vintage cars and motorcycles. You can also run  or cycle. Registration begins at 12 noon at Cleariestown Community Centre. Run will commence at approx 1 pm. Refreshments served. All support greatly appreciated.

Scouts 
Kilmore scouts took part in the Seafood festival parade in Kilmore Quay last week. Brumjammers are making final arrangements for their big adventure when 38 adults and youths head to the International scout jamboree in Birmingham 29 July to 6 Aug.

 

Afternoon Tea and Garden Party 
The Skrine family have kindly offered to host an Afternoon Tea and Garden party on Sunday 7th August at Butlerstown Castle in aid of Tomhaggard social centre.  More details later.

Rathangan Annual Patron Mass
The annual patron mass will take place on Monday 15th August at 1.30 pm. Refreshments will be served at the School after mass. Tickets are now on sale for our annual Raffle. They can be bought at all local shops and business outlets in the Parish and from Parish Council members.

Ambrosetown Patron
The Ambrosetown Patron will take place on Wednesday the 17th August at 8pm. This year a collection of money will be held for essential maintenance to our graveyard. Wall repairs, gate repairs and protection of the church gable and window in the graveyard are all jobs that need urgent attention. With a little bit of support we can make a start on these jobs, over time. Wexford County Council will also be asked to support our project. Any help you can give, would be gratefully appreciated. Thank you.


Art in the open festival
Starts this Sunday at Redmond Square, with daily paint-outs throughout the Sunny South East, incl. Ballymore Demense, Inistioge, Tintern Abbey, Passage East and Curracloe Beach. Farmers Market & Family Fun Day

On Saturday August 13th we are holding a Farmers Market & Family Fun Day at Rathangan Hall starting at 12pm. We’ll have all the usual fun activities for kids to do on the day, including Bouncy Castles, Archery,  Electric Zoo, Fun & Games, Face-painting, Hair-braiding and much more for the whole family to enjoy. The Farmers Market will be held at the Hall while the Fun Day will take place on the GAA Grounds.
