 Rathangan Community Lotto

There was no winner of last week’s jackpot of €4,200. The winning numbers were 4, 9, 15 and 22. There were three match three winners – Each receiving €70 each. The Match three winners were Mary Gallagher and Grandkids, Margaret Cloney and Sean Byrne. The next lotto draw will be held on Tuesday 29th August 2017 and the Jackpot now stands at €4,400.


Sister Act
Rathangan Variety Group are holding an Information Night in the upstairs room of Rathangan Hall on Tuesday 5th September, 7.30pm for their forthcoming production of “SISTER ACT” which will be staged in Rathangan Hall from 14th to 17th February 2018 inclusive. Why not come along on the night to meet our Director and also to find out more about the show. Audition material will be available on the night. This is a really lively, funny show and both Men and Women are needed for this production. AUDITIONS will be held in Rathangan Hall from 2pm to 5pm on Saturday 16th September and from 2pm to 5pm on Sunday 17th September. CERTIFICATE IN PASTORAL THEOLOGY
For the coming year, the opportunity is again being offered to the people of the diocese to discover more about their Christian faith. In union with the Carlow Institute of Technology, Wexford Campus, we are happy to announce a 'CERTIFICATE IN PASTORAL THEOLOGY' course to be held at St Peter's College, Wexford. The course will run from 10th October until April of next year. It is aimed at all people who would like to know more about their Christian faith. There is no requirement for previous study and the course is open to all. There are no exams and work will be graded by continuous assessment.
Subjects covered by the course include Scripture, liturgy and sacraments, theology of God, theology of Church, pastoral theology and moral theology. Duncormick Harvest Festival launch 

You are invited to join us to help launch our advertising campaign on Thursday the 31st of August  at 7pm by the River Muck in Duncormick. Members of the press will be there to capture some photos for the local papers.

There will be refreshments for all and some novel entertainment. 

 

Murankin Fundraiser
Following his very successful cabaret last year, the community of Mulrankin are delighted to announce that Michael English and his band will be returning to Clayton Whites hotel this year on Thursday November 30th in concert with special guest Brendan Shine!! Tickets cost €22.50 and it promises to be another great night if last year is anything to go by. We’re very lucky to be part of Michaels concert tour this year, he’s starting in the Olympia on October 11th and finishing with us in Wexford on November 30th, all his concert tour dates will be advertised nationwide in the national papers and also through his own website so demand is going to be high! Crafty SEWcialising
Do you own a Sewing machine but don't know how to use it?? Then you need sewing classes for complete beginners.  This 6 week course covers how to operate and maintain machine, use attachments and make simple crafts. Classes start 13 Sept 7-9.30, cost e80. It's that time of year again, time to think of updating your Information Technology Skills.  IT'S NOT TOO LATE! There are a limited number of places left on our PLC course in Information Processing. We have revised our course to offer candidates the most up-to-date, relevant modules for work, or further education, in the area of Business/Information Technology. Johnstown Castle Show

An invitation is extended to keen gardeners from all over Wexford to compete in this year's Gardening Show. The Show will be held in the Agricultural Museum (Johnstown Castle) on the 9th & 10th September. 

Any Flowers, Fruit, and Vegetables can be entered as well as homemade Preserves, Jams, Pot Plants, and Floral arranging, there are special sections for children.

New category Best Scarecrow! This is a show all the family can take part in.

Cleariestown Playschool

The playschool will reopen on Wednesday 30th August at 9.30am. Please note this is the day before the National school but in line with the ECCE  Calender. Enrolments will take place on the morning. Children will not need to bring any snack with them as this will be provided. The day will end at 12.30pm. Looking forward to all the new faces joining the playschool for 2017.

Good luck to our scout team who will be taking part in the All Ireland Scoutcraft Competition. The Phoenix in Stormont Estate, Belfast 17-20 August. It is a great achievement for such young scouts who have been busy practicing over the past few weeks.  The team is Huan Er McBride,  Sean Whitty, Danny Lawton Corish,  Ava Lawton Breslin (Kilmore), Cian Doyle, Adam Ffrench (Rathangan),  Senan Murray (Cleariestown),  Brendan Thompson (Our Ladys Island). They are joining teams from 13th Clonard,  25th Blackwater, and 34th Davidstown.  We wish them all the best of luck in the competition and hope you have loads of great experiences.

Duncormick Area Action Group has once again entered this year’s Tidy Town’s   Competition with judging from June-August. We are appealing to everyone to help us in obtaining better results this year and be proud of our village. We would also like to ask everyone to use the litter bins provided in the village.
