Community Lotto
There was one winner of last week’s jackpot of  €9,300, congratulations to Orlagh Morrin!!!The winning   numbers were 6, 11, 18 and 20. Congratulations to the eleven match 3 winners who received €27 each. The match three winners were  Mary Walsh, Ann Ryan, Bob Wright, Jo Moore, Murt Sinnott, Hilda Rochford, Stephen Kehoe, Josephine Goldsmith, Tiddy Sinnott, Mick McLoughlin, Chris White.

Parish AED's

We're delighted to now have Four AED's in our parish - Baldwinstown, Cleariestown, Duncormick and Rathangan.  They are located at the shop in Baldwinstown; Church in Cleariestown; Former post office in Duncormick and on the school in Rathangan.  They're in a bright yellow box.  If you suspect a cardiac arrest please call 999 / 112 FIRST and then, if you can, your voluntary AED team.  We will try our best to respond and our number is 086 401 1688.  Volunteers for the team are always required.  Call Jacqui on 087 2219 302 for more information or facebook.com/RathanganDefib/

Sunnydays Afterschool Rathangan Homework Club
This service is provided for the kids who attend between 2-3pm and 3-6pm. Kids who attend from 2-3 remain in our afterschool room in the school. Children who attend from 3-6 are cared for in Rathangan Hall. We have a designated homework room were the children can concentrate without distraction. We offer assistance and guidance to allow them to complete their homework at their own pace. When homework is complete we provide a range of fun and activities.

 

 

 


Cleariestown Senior Citizens Christmas Party
All Senior Citizens are cordially invited to the Annual Christmas Party which will take place on Sunday 15th January 2017 with mass in Cleariestown Church followed by traditional Christmas dinner and entertainment in the Community Centre. More details to follow later.

 


Lotto Christmas Break
Rathangan Parish Lotto will be taking their annual Christmas break. The last draw for 2016 will be held on December 20th and will resume again on Tuesday January 10th 2017. We would like to take this opportunity to thank the various clubs and everyone involved in the lotto on the Tuesday night. Wishing you all a very merry Christmas and a prosperous New Year!!!

Southeast Country Music Festival 2017

Five of Ireland’s leading artists are confirmed to play the South East Country Music Festival 2017 at Killag, on 30th July 2017. M'Call's Cottages

Parishioners will be observing the long awaited construction of our seven new Elder Homes on the grounds of the old parochial house. To be known as McCall's Cottages, they will continue the parish connection to the patriot poet, PJ M'Call. They are scheduled for completion after Easter 2017. Anyone contemplating a home in M'Call's Cottages for themselves or a loved one, should seek to get their name onto Wexford County Council, housing list as soon as possible. Enquiries can be made through any member of the Housing Association or Parish Council.
The farm buildings that border the old graveyard are to be partly demolished in coming weeks and the remaining boundary wall is to be repaired and levelled to a height of 2.1 metres. It is also planned to put a walk through gate from the cemetery to the garden of M'Call's Cottages. Any party having concerns about what is contemplated are invited to contact any member of the Committee.


Fastnet Rovers
We would like to thank all the supporters and sponsors of our Christmas Grand Prize Draw. The winner of the €1000 1st prize was Brendan Lawlor. Other prize winners were; Janet Lacey, Niall Doyle, Kevin Carroll, Noel Martin, White Family (St Annes), Louise & Julia Walsh & Roy Stafford, Darragh Byrne & Rory Farrell and Annette Walsh. The sellers prize was won by Ray Kelly. The club would like to wish all our members, supporters and parents a Happy Christmas and look forward to a great 2017. 

Sympathy
We extend sincere sympathy to Cathy Breen & family Redmoor on the sad passing of her sister Mai Sweetman (Carrig-On-Bannow) during the week. We also extend sincere sympathy to the family of Pat Rossister (Bellary) and also the family of Joanne Rowe (Ralphtown)  both who died recently. May they rest in peace.

Income for Rathangan Parish Church from the Community Lotto for the month  of November is 697.23€.


Danescastle Music Group

Danescastle Music Group senior musicians present an evening of Christmas Carols and music in Carrig on Bannow church on Friday 23rd December at 7 pm. Admission free. All welcome.



Cleariestown Credit Union AGM
The AGM of Cleariestown Credit Union Ltd will take place on Thursday 22 nd December 2016 at 8p.m. in their main office in Baldwinstown. The Board has the pleasure of recommending a dividend of 1% and a rebate of interest paid on members’ loans of 15%. All members are earnestly encouraged to attend on the night. There will be spot prizes galore on the night for members in attendance.

A meeting will be held in Rathangan Hall  at 8.30, Thursday, the 5th of January to discuss issues relating to Ambrosetown Graveyard.  All those with an interest in the cemetary are welcome to attend.

Remember the year of the snow when the Senior Citizen Christmas Party took place in January…..well due to unforeseen circumstances the committee need to defer the annual Christmas party until early in the New Year. Christmas Tree Lighting

A big thank you to everyone who attended and supported the Christmas Tree lighting last Saturday night in Duncormick. Christmas Carols

Rathangan Variety Group will entertain you with their annual Christmas Carols outside of all masses on weekend of 17th and 18th December in Rathangan and Cleariestown as part of their  fundraising events towards their February 2017 production of “Oklahoma”. Your support as always would be greatly appreciated. The group would like to wish you and your families a very happy Christmas and the best for 2017.
