Rathangan Community Lotto
There was no winner of last week’s jackpot of €4,000. The winning numbers were 2, 4, 6 and 23. There were three match three winners – Each receiving €70 each. The Match three winners were Mary Brophy , Martin Scallon and Pat Hogan . The next lotto draw will be held on Tuesday 22nd August 2017 and the Jackpot now stands at €4,200.

Duncormick Harvest Festival launch 

You are invited to join us to help launch our advertising campaign on Thursday the 31st of August  at 7pm by the River Muck in Duncormick. Members of the press will be there to capture some photos for the local papers.

There will be refreshments for all and some novel entertainment. 

 


Scouts

Good luck to our scout team who will be taking part in the All Ireland Scoutcraft Competition. The Phoenix in Stormont Estate, Belfast 17-20 August. It is a great achievement for such young scouts who have been busy practicing over the past few weeks.  The team is Huan Er McBride,  Sean Whitty, Danny Lawton Corish,  Ava Lawton Breslin (Kilmore), Cian Doyle, Adam Ffrench (Rathangan),  Senan Murray (Cleariestown),  Brendan Thompson (Our Ladys Island). They are joining teams from 13th Clonard,  25th Blackwater, and 34th Davidstown.  We wish them all the best of luck in the competition and hope you have loads of great experiences.

 

Murankin Fundraiser
Following his very successful cabaret last year, the community of Mulrankin are delighted to announce that Michael English and his band will be returning to Clayton Whites hotel this year on Thursday November 30th in concert with special guest Brendan Shine!! Tickets cost €22.50 and it promises to be another great night if last year is anything to go by. We’re very lucky to be part of Michaels concert tour this year, he’s starting in the Olympia on October 11th and finishing with us in Wexford on November 30th, all his concert tour dates will be advertised nationwide in the national papers and also through his own website so demand is going to be high! Harvest Festival-Volunteers
In advance of the Harvest Festival Volunteers are needed to do the following:  Setting Up ,Putting up Tents , Moving Furniture , Hanging Artwork , Safety Signs ,Hang Bunting  and on the Harvest Festival day volunteers are needed for the Tea Tent , Parking, Jam Stand , Toilets , Bins and Gates. INFORMATION PROCESSING COURSE - BRIDGETOWN COLLEGE
It's that time of year again, time to think of updating your Information Technology Skills.  IT'S NOT TOO LATE! There are a limited number of places left on our PLC course in Information Processing. We have revised our course to offer candidates the most up-to-date, relevant modules for work, or further education, in the area of Business/Information Technology. Johnstown Castle Show

An invitation is extended to keen gardeners from all over Wexford to compete in this year's Gardening Show. The Show will be held in the Agricultural Museum (Johnstown Castle) on the 9th & 10th September. 

Any Flowers, Fruit, and Vegetables can be entered as well as homemade Preserves, Jams, Pot Plants, and Floral arranging, there are special sections for children.

New category Best Scarecrow! This is a show all the family can take part in.

Keep Fit - TRX Classes & Pilates Classes

TRX Classes take place in the Club House every Monday and Wednesday evenings @ 6.30pm and Tuesday and Friday mornings @ 9.30am.  For further details please contact Kevin Cogley on 086-3656233.
Pilates Classes take place in Baldwinstown Hall on Tuesday evenings from 7.15pm to 8.15pm.  Bring a mat, towel and drinking water.  Cost is €9 and it is recommended to book a place. For further details please contact Theresa White on 089-4620552

Duncormick Area Action Group has once again entered this year’s Tidy Town’s   Competition with judging from June-August. We are appealing to everyone to help us in obtaining better results this year and be proud of our village. We would also like to ask everyone to use the litter bins provided in the village.

Youth Pilgrimage                  

Youth Pilgrimage to Our Lady's Island on Saturday 12th of August.  Pilgrims are welcome to join us at 2:30pm in Tomhaggard to walk to Our Lady's Island for Holy Mass at 7pm.  This will be followed by a talk for youth and a BBQ.  Families and young adults are especially welcome.

 

The Late Fr. Fintan Morris RIP

A sincere word of thanks to Fr. Kevin Cahill, Fr. Bernard Cushen, Tony, Ger, Mona, Jacqui, the altar servers, the choir and all those present for the celebration of Holy Mass on Friday 28th July, 2017, in Rathangan. This Mass was offered to remember and acknowledge the trojan work that Fr. Fintan did in the three churches in the parish during his ministry here. May he rest gently in his native Wicklow and his soul rest in peace.

 

Charity Drive

A Charity Drive in aid of Wexford Hospice Homecare will take place on Sunday the 13th August at 12.30pm, from Ballymagyr, Duncormick.

Ambrosetown Patron

The annual patron will be held in Ambrosetown, on 8th August, at 8pm.  Thank you to Cllr Michael Whelan for his ongoing help and advice and in matters concerning the graveyard, to Eoin and John Harpur of Wellington Bridge for manufacture of a new gate to the Graveyard, also to Wexford County Council for financial assistance for our new gate, finally to Father Cahill and Rathangan Parish Council, for continuing to maintain the graveyard.   

 

McCall’s Cottages

The homes will be open for general public viewing after the Patron on 15th August from 3 to 5pm. The homes are not yet fully let so we are still open for inquiries and interest from anyone considering a move. Fastnet Rovers:
Date for your Diary: Fastnet Rovers Annual Camp night will be on Saturday August 12th. Bring the family, pitch your tent, grab some food and have some fun.  

FAI Summer Soccer Camp:
